The Girl who Talked to the Gods

“The Girl Who Talks to the Gods” is my first sci-fi script, inspired by a mix of personal experiences, real events, and stories I’ve come across. Some of it comes from true encounters, others from people’s experiences, and ideas stemming from podcasts. It’s a blend of reality and imagination that creates a unique and compelling story.

“The Girl Who Talked to the Gods” – Film Synopsis

In 1994, at Zimbabwe’s Ariel School, a group of children report an encounter with beings from another world. For their young teacher, Frank, the most unsettling part is still to come: one of his pupils, Lisa, has a message meant for him.

Frank cannot let it go. His search for an explanation takes him from the pyramids of Egypt to the ancient temples of India and the submerged stone terraces of Japan. Along the way, he meets Sally. What begins as a shared fascination becomes a love story, shaped by encounters neither can explain—and by the growing suspicion that their journey is being quietly guided.

But mysteries do not raise children. As Frank and Sally build a home and a family, the search gives way to everyday life. Years pass. Then a familiar face in a television broadcast, and a friendship with a former French naval intelligence officer, bring the unanswered questions back within reach. Each new clue suggests that Lisa knew far more than a child should—and that someone has been watching over Frank for much longer than he realised.

Thirty years after Ariel School, Lisa returns.

On a beach in Egypt, with Sally and their daughters beside him, Frank is finally offered a glimpse beyond the world he knows. The encounter will change his understanding of the life they have built together.

Spanning three decades, The Girl Who Talked to the Gods is a science-fiction mystery about curiosity, love and the passage of time. At its heart is a man searching the universe for answers while learning what deserves his attention here on Earth.
